Create custom Windows imaging applications for Scanners, Digital Cameras and Frame Grabbers

Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA – 18 December, 2007 -- SJD Software today announced the immediate availability of v8.0 of the PiXCL Advanced Image Processing and Analysis Language suite.

PiXCL will appeal to scanner, digital camera, frame grabber and USB / Firewire videocam owners who need to develop custom applications that replace or augment the software that comes with their equipment, using an easy to learn programmable imaging toolkit.

PiXCL provides full control of all WIA, Still Image and TWAIN-compliant imaging hardware for acquisition of images from the selected device. The image processing functions include all of the commonly used point and geometric image processing functions with optional histogram display and image statistic export, and up to 15x15 user defined filters, making the adjustment of size, brightness, contrast, gamma and other image parameters a simple exercise. Advanced image analysis capabilities include multi-channel classification from spectral signatures, principal components generation with inverse functions, morphology and object identification, measurement and reporting. A PiXCL application can create results directly in an MS-Excel worksheet.

Image file formats supported are BMP, JIFF, JPEG, PhotoCD, PCX, PPM, PNG, PSD, RAS, RLE, TIF, TGA and raw image data plus a number of geographic data formats.

PiXCL 8 is a complete imaging application development solution, and includes an integrated multiple document code editor with context sensitive command help, code helper applications, and access to serial devices such as digitizing tables. The PiXCL 8 language has more than 800 commands and operators, and provides full access to the Windows Registry, INI and Help facilities and includes built-in and custom dialog boxes. PiXCL can communicate directly with Microsoft Office modules, Internet Explorer and any Automation server, using COM. The PiXCL compiler produces royalty-free EXE.

The Developer version includes the C/C++ API's for the image processing functions, plus the PiXCL Plug-In API for user's who want to extend the language capability. Also included are DLLs with source code to support OEM Firewire and USB cameras from QImaging, DVC, Basler and Pt.Grey Research.

Single user download pricing for PiXCL 8 End User is c$50, PiXCL 8 Developer is c$150 with multiple license, reseller and OEM pricing available.
