Summer 2008: 4G Hella Projector headlamp brackets

I'm working on a set of fabricated sheet steel brackets to mount these Hella projector headlamp units to replace the pathetic standard headlamp units.
Email me if getting a set of these brackets would be of interest. Getting 20 sets made is always cheaper per unit than 1 set.
March 2007 ... 4G Summit / Colt / Mirage Dash Dummy Switch replacement
4G's have three dummy switches on the dash,
as shown here outlined in yellow.
The center switch position in the triple set above the vents is for the rarely optioned Cruise Control. This switch and cover bits appear to be still available new for around $70.
The dummy double
set above the LHS vent could be used for fog and/or driving lights
(via relays), or any other purpose. These switches were never
optioned in the US/Canada
Summit/Colt/Mirage
versions.
Would it be useful to you to convert these into operational switches? ... then read on!
It is possible to snap the center Hazard switch and Rear Window Timer switch into the dual dummy holder frame, but you must then modify the switch and dummy covers. Its fiddly to do, and the covers are not illuminated. The Timer switch is usable but not particularly useful unless you have an application where a timer would help.

I have located a supply of new push on-off SPST illuminated (by 12v LED, r, g, b or w) switches that can be ADAPTED WITH CUSTOM MACHINED PARTS to suit the 4G center and dual LHS dummy positions. The center switch snaps into place directly. The dual switch set up requires a custom made bent metal support frame that directly replaces the current plastic one that is not usable.
The covers can be illuminated from the existing dash circuit, and a status 12v LED (r,g,b,or w) can usually be added as well. The switch has 6 contacts and would be supplied with tail wires to a 6-way M + F connector i.e ready for you to integrate into your car's harness.

I'm prepared to make a kit of these three switches available if there's enough interest, say at least 10 sets ordered. The existing dummy covers would have to be sent to me, otherwise I'll have to find them (and charge you) from a local wrecker, if I can find them. These covers are remanufactured to add illumination graphics and optional status LED.
Email me if you are seriously interested in getting a kit like this. I don't have an exact price yet, but for the set of three switches, in the us$100-140 range is expected. The main expenses are the bent metal support frame and switch cover adapter (Its FAR cheaper/unit to get 20 than 5) and the time I take to remanufacture and assemble this kit. |
April 2007 ... Expo 4.50" Hub on 4G Rear Axle Stub Adapter Bush Set
Switching your
4G sedan or coupe to 4x or 5x4.50 " hubs from the original
4x100mm requires the Expo rear hub.
The 4G axle is 28mm, while the Expo hub has a 30mm bearing ID. We can supply the set of two stainless steel bushes for us$100 + shipping.
Installation is straightforeward, but does require the bushes be PRESSED (not hammered) into the Expo hub. You can use a large vise and a plate, or use a hydraulic shop press. The main requirement is that the bearing and bush are co-axial, or else the bush will be damaged. The bush is an easy slide fit over the 4G axle stub.
March 2007 ... 4G Caliper Adapter Bracket to suit 1G Eclipse disk on Expo 4.50" hub.
Switching the 4G to 4 or 5x4.50 " hubs from 4x100mm requires a FWD Expo rear integral hub bearing. You need a custom bracket to mount the 1G caliper, as the 4G rear disk caliper bracket is not usable without significant machining. Furthermore, the 4G rear disk caliper bracket is no longer an available part, at least in Canada.

Email us for exact pricing details if you are interested in a set. The approximate single set price is us$200 + shipping. Order the caliper bracket and the hub bushes at the same time and save on the shipping.
Optional finish is black powder paint.
If you are using the 1G Talon rear disk calipers, I can also supply the additional e-brake support blocks you would otherwise have to fabricate yourself.

Big Front brake conversion kits : convert your 4G or 5G from 4x100mm to 4x4.50" or 5x4.50" wheels with 250x24mm or 275x24mm disks.

Rear Disk Conversion kit for the 4G and 5G Lancer (except 2003 Oz Lancer): 4x4.50" or 5x4.50" hubs, bearing bushes, Eclipse / Talon rear caliper adapter brackets, brake cable and mounting hardware kit.

4G Front suspension Bush kits. Not obtainable from any North American manufacturer, these Australian made bushes stop most of the suspension movement that makes for imprecise handling. Should be used in conjuction with new (standard or Ralliart) top insulator bearings and stronger springs front and rear.
Gauge
pod modifications. I can modify or reconstruct a Mitsubishi gauge
pod to fit your car. Shown here is a 1G AWD Talon pod modified to fit
the 4G Colt / Lancer / Summit with a 4G63T. Other possible sources
are the Expo minivan and 90-93 Galant / Eagle 2000 GTX. Custom gauges
and electronic assemblies can be incorporated.
