FreePiXCL v4.8 Information and Registration
Last update 22-December-2007
Simply the
easiest to learn and quickest way to create custom image acquisition,
display and processing applications for your TWAIN-compatible scanner,
digital
camera and frame grabber,
is a complete development solution with a code editor, complete
context sensitive help, and plenty of sample code.
also includes a TWAIN test utility to help you identify your
scanner's or digital camera's full capabilities. Best of all,
is 100% free and fully functional.
Not
satisfied with the software bundled with your TWAIN scanner or
digital camera?
Are you ready to
create a serious imaging application that does what you want, and
works the way you want it to?
An application written in the easy-to-learn PiXCL language gives you command and control access to all TWAIN, Still Image and WIA devices including with the User Interface off (if supported by your equipment), comprehensive image processing commands, 15 supported image formats, Windows common dialogs, and built-in and custom dialogs. Plus all the string, integer and floating point variable functions, toolbars, mouse modes, string handling and program control structures you need to create professional grade programs.
Limited programming experience?: No problem: there's lots of sample code to work with, and code writing Helper Wizards do a lot of the initial hard work (and its not that hard either). Most people have their first simple application running in an afternoon. Like most useful applications, it typically takes 3-4 weeks to become fully proficient if you spend an hour or two per day. If you register with me, you'll also get free technical support via email.
You know VB or C/C++?: Great! You should enjoy the simplicity and power of the PiXCL syntax, as you know how long it takes to get Windows applications working because of all the little details that Windows requires (make that FORCES) you to handle. The high level nature of the PiXCL commands hides most of this tedious detail inside the interpreter. In addition, an application written in VB or C / C++ can communicate with any PiXCL application, should this be necessary. The API's for the PiXCL Extension Command, Imaging and TWAIN Libraries are included in PiXCL 6 Developer.
Did you first learn Fortran or another "legacy" language? As an industry veteran, you too should enjoy the simplicity and power of the PiXCL syntax, as it does not have the complexity of the object-oriented programming style. The structured coding methods should be familiar so you will be able to use your experience to quickly learn the PiXCL syntax. You do work with graphical objects (menus, dialogs, images and similar), mostly by specifying their X,Y corner coordinates on your screen.
is not crippled or restricted in any way, but its not as capable as
