Here’s an opportunity for Computer Science or Engineering Students or Graduates to get that all-important first industry exposure in software and hardware to add to your resume, working with an entrepreneur and professional developer of commercial software, and two other experienced professionals. The three of us just graduated to Phase III of the Lead to Win entrepreneur program run by Carleton University.
If you are currently an unemployed or under-employed professional Software Developer (including recent Graduates) and have a background relevent to some of the list below, or you want to move into the embedded software industry, we should at least talk about mutual interests and possible collaboration.
The project R&D with fully functional hardware is approaching completion but has plenty of interesting and challenging work that still needs doing, including
Knowledge and Experience of interest
Not interested in a Start-up, but you'd like to review the product?
We welcome all constructive comments (positive and negative) on what we are doing. Background in some of the above is probably a good idea, but it's not essential. If you want to see more information, send an email to sjd@pixcl.com. All contact information is kept confidential.
What is Venture Talent?
Venture Talent is the investment of time and effort in a startup company for any one (or more) of the following compensations: experience in the latest technology, a better resume, a good reference, cash in the future.
Venture Talent effort is definitely not for everyone! Neither is starting up a new company. The risks are high, the technical challenges exciting, but if it's successful the rewards can be outstanding.
If you have 1-3 days a week to spend on learning new and current technologies while helping to create interesting and useful products, and you have an entrepreneurial spirit, send (this is important! ) a BRIEF, PLAIN TEXT email to sjd@pixcl.com stating your relevent classes, coding or other appropriate experience, and why you think that a Venture Talent contribution works for you. Ensure you include a contact phone number. All contact information is kept confidential.
French is not required, nor is a valid security clearance.
Everyone who responds will receive the courtesy of a personal reply, even if this is a "thanks, but no thanks".
A signed Non-Disclosure Agreement is required. Telecommuting is expected and encouraged for the willing collaborator(s) after the initial product orientation.
