Startup Company in Gatineau, Quebec, looking for Venture Talent

Here’s an opportunity for Computer Science or Engineering Students or Graduates to get that all-important first industry exposure in software and hardware to add to your resume, working with an entrepreneur and professional developer of commercial software, and two other experienced professionals. The three of us just graduated to Phase III of the Lead to Win entrepreneur program run by Carleton University.

If you are currently an unemployed or under-employed professional Software Developer (including recent Graduates) and have a background relevent to some of the list below, or you want to move into the embedded software industry, we should at least talk about mutual interests and possible collaboration.

The project R&D with fully functional hardware is approaching completion but has plenty of interesting and challenging work that still needs doing, including

Embedded C code firmware on the ARM touch screen devices, using gcc and the CodeLite development environment
Real Time Operating Systems integration (FreeRTOS and embedded Linux)
Implementing and testing USB device stacks in the ARM device and drivers for Windows 7
Windows 7 coding using Visual Studio 2008 and MFC to complete the code simulator Development environment
Documentation of the gcc tool chain for embedded systems, to add it to the Development environment
Technical Writing to produce and edit Help file and SDK documentation in CHM format
Website updates including user forum, on-line store and social network marketing

Knowledge and Experience of interest

Use of the Scintilla text colouring control in Windows and/or Linux
Cross-platform coding using Qt or WXWidgets.
We don't use Java at present, but expect to do some in future.
An interest in Android, esspecially 3.0 and later. App design is important, and so is some understanding of USB device access and the Android Accessory SDK.
Any background in developing test and measurement or scientific laboratory equipment
Knowing how to safely handle hardware, read schematics and use an oscilloscope.
