Decaf™ Smart Touch Screen kits with PiXCLe will appeal to unique designers, fabricators and assemblers of small volume USB light industrial control equipment using that requires an LCD, SD card, plus sensor and control inputs and outputs.
Decaf™ Smart Touch Screen kits are complete, very affordable to a wide end user market and include the PiXCLe Code Studio where the application is developed, simulated and tested. PiXCLe is a subset of the PiXCL 11 Imaging/Sensor/Control Suite, due for release in Q3 2012.
Using PiXCLe the end-user developers can focus on their embedded application appearance and functionality, without ever needing to know intimate technical details of the real time operating system (RTOS) and hardware.
As USB Composite devices, once programmed with a PiXCLe application, Decaf™ boards will work with any host operating system. All the necessary Windows utilities are provides to upgrade the Decaf RTOS and PiXCLe over the USB connection.
"Decaf™ boards with PiXCLe can be programmed by almost anyone, will save builders time, money and frustration, and get their touch screen control projects running in days, not months", said Stewart Dibbs, PiXCL Automation Technologies founder and CEO. The PiXCL Code Studio host software requires Windows 7.
The company also provides a free community download Windows version, PiXCL 10, so a potential user can learn the language and see how effective PiXCL can be as a development tool.
PiXCLe can be ported to similar ARM hardware platforms, and an OEM software porting service will be offered.
Availability of the first Decaf products is expected Q2 2012. Pricing has not been announced. The software is licensed on a per board basis for all end users. Commercial license enquires are welcome.
